Day 21: Wed 13 Jun – Cairns

15-27 deg C

We had a slow start to the day after a sleep in. The others were leaving this morning so we elected to stay in to say “goodbye and see you soon.” Wendy also did four loads of washing; caravaners are dirty people you know?! We plan to meet up again tomorrow at Yvonne's friends farm at Port Douglas for a few days before moving onto Cooktown.

After the other two couples left, and all washing was on the line, we headed off in the truck to see a few of Wendy's old haunts. First up was her old house (11 Alice Close), then school (TAS), then the White Rock General store which was owned by Dave and Rose Sperling back in the day. We also filled up with diesel at the store as it was the cheapest in town by about 3 cents/litre.  It was then off to Woolies to restock before moving on tomorrow.

It was time for lunch when we got home and then we both had an LLD. The washing was then taken in and Greg went for a ride on his own whilst Wendy went to meet her best friend from her school days - Karen Pezzutti (now Chester). Karen is a very busy working mum and we had been in contact for a few days prior to arrange a time. This afternoon was the best opportunity and we had a good old chat and catch-up over a cup of tea and decaf coffee at the same shopping centre we shopped at this morning! Turns out Karen lives not far from the Mt Sheridan Plaza.

By the time Wendy got home, Greg was already half way through his dinner, but he had remade the bed after the sheets being washed!
