1 (feels like -4) - 17 deg C; lovely sunny day with a very lazy wind
Wendy was up at 6:30am to do another load of washing before we move on tomorrow. We had to change sites again this morning, so after our morning walks and breakfast, we packed up and moved to site #64 on the other side of the park; we have a concrete slab now! We arrived and set up and it was time for mornos. So, we had that and then remembered we had left the washing on the line over the other side. So off we trekked to get that.
It was then off to see some of the gorges, gaps and chasms to the West of Alice Springs. We did Simpsons Gap and it was quite speccy but the breeze was still a little lazy. We moved onto to Stanley Chasm, but by that stage the breeze (and the cold) had become a bit too much. And, to add insult to injury, one has to pay $12 each for the pleasure of traversing the 2.4km round trip. Wendy decided that this was not good money spent on a day such as today; maybe one day in the future when we return when it is slightly warmer! We stopped at Flynn's Grave to consume our lunch - sandwiches we had made before leaving home.
On the way home after lunch, we stopped in the city to have a wander and top up with groceries. We had a nice wander through the Mall and then shopped and came home. A short snooze was had before doing not much of anything.
As we were getting ready for bed, the fireworks went off to signal the end of the Alice Springs Show. They were on a par with many other cities but the humble iPhone could not keep up.
Our third site at BIG4 MacDonnell Range Holiday Park #64Path to and from Simpsons Gap, constructed by staff and inmates of the Alice Springs Gaol and opened in 1990
