Day 30: Fri 22 Jun – Yungaburra to Undara

Drive: 215km; Total towed: 2282km

13-22 deg C

After an early walk in warmer than usual conditions, we had breakfast, packed up and were on the road by 9am. Not a very exciting day. Stopped for mornos at Ravenshoe and brewed-up in the van as the weather was quite ordinary - overcast with a slight drizzle and blowing a gale. After mornos we had a wander up and down the main street just to move the legs. Ravenshoe has the highest everything – pub, bakery, etc

Next stop was at Mount Garnet for lunch which we made in the van. Before moving on, we re-fuelled with relatively cheap diesel at $1.469. Lucky, as here at Undara it is $1.98 - the most expensive we have ever seen in Australia (so far!)

We didn't stop again until we checked into Undara. We have a drive-through site with power and water. The water is from the aquifer, and the lady at reception informed us that even though it was potable water, we may not enjoy the taste. Greg tried it and said it was fine.

After setting up Greg had a cuppa and then we went for a walk around the park. It is quite a large camp with various forms of accommodation; rail carriages, weird looking tents, tent camp sites, caravan sites (both powered and non-powered) and then some fairly ordinary looking ATCO hut-type things in the Stockmans Camping area.
