After a late'ish breakfast we set off for the city. Mark needed to get a key cut so that was first off. That took all of five minutes, and we were having a lovely cup of coffee in the mall. From there we thought about doing the Museum of Tropical Queensland but it was $15 or $8 for concessions. We moved on to the Maritime Museum where we had to wait a while for the girls to come down from Castle Hill before we entered. That kind of ate into our time and by the time we had finished in the museum it was a bit late to do the Art Gallery that we always normally do in towns/cities. Instead, Greg led us to the Palmetum - a Botanical Garden with many palm species. It had a memorial garden dedicated to the Blackhawk disaster in a Townsville training area in 1996. We only did a very small part of the gardens but they were quite speccy. We kinda followed the Ross River back to Stuart Drive, the main road back to the van park.
Lunch was had in the camp kitchen and then we went shopping, again. We both needed new runners, Wendy needed a few new pairs of undies after the Rockhampton undie thief, and a few other things. Mission completed there, we headed for Bunnings where we got a new 8.5kg Swap&Go gas cylinder and some new loo juice - toilet sanitiser.
It was then back home to prepare dinner. We had a scrumptious ginger/turmeric/garlic crusted chicken breast with roast veggies done in the turbo oven. The others had fish and chips. As it is State of Origin night, we ate in the camp kitchen, and watched the game - QLD was robbed!
